MEET THE WRITER

Micaela Valdés Rosario

For me, a meditation always begins with a question. But how many of our inner questions do we never ask or answer? My curiosity towards my inner most self has kept me in a constant search for a deeper understanding of the experiences we all share between thoughts, intentions and actions. Our outer peace is guided by our inner world. This is that exploration – in the form of prose!

As a young child, I was voted “most inquisitive” during my 1996 summer camp experience. I would later bloom into a professional “storyteller” as an Emmy-nominated TV Producer. My life’s work, so far, has been fundamentally based on “asking questions” and “listening for” what goes unanswered.

And now, decades removed from that camp experience, hundreds of people have trusted me with their stories, a gift which I am endlessly indebted. Our human experiences connect us and comfort us. We know we’re not alone. What’s at the heart of the “human experience” – the soul, the mind, the body? And what is it that keeps us coming back to other people’s stories? What do we hope to find? And how can we hold on to it, just a little longer…

I want to continue to ask questions through the lens of mindful awareness. On this site, you’ll either find experiences that match your own or you’ll read a perspective that challenges you, possibly opening up something long hidden and forgotten. Each entry will be titled with a question. There is also a section called “Vignettes” where you will find short stories based on true experiences.

My longing in life has always been to find what goes unsaid, or unshared. This is simply a writer’s mindful journey…

On the home page, look to the right side column, see a question, click on it – find a perspective…every month.

Welcome to “Meditations In Prose”!

Mindfully Yours,
